The hand-pulled images by Howard are his reflections on the land, forest, and sea life of Washington State’s pristine coast. Arousing a sense of peace, this series is Howard’s response to the great Pacific Northwest. Howard uses color as a primal expression of nature, understanding his serigraphs best occurs when all preconceptions of art are shed and his work is examined only for its fundamental qualities. Recently, Howard has been exploring human form in relation to the natural world. In this series, his audience will discover intimacy, comedy, and a lighthearted interaction between people and their surroundings.
Howard’s artwork is on display in many Oregon coast galleries as well as on the Washington State Ferry, the Kaleeten, currently on the Seattle and San Juan Island runs.
